Do Not Disturb by Claire Douglas

Following a traumatic event in London, Kirsty Woodhouse packs up her family and moves back to her native Wales. There she sets up her new home with her husband and two young daughters, and goes into business with her difficult mother managing a guesthouse in the Brecon Beacons.

But when the guesthouse is ready to be occupied, Kirsty encounters the last person she ever expected to see: her estranged cousin Selena. It has been seventeen years since they last talked—when Selena tore everything apart between them.

Why has she chosen now to walk back into Kirsty”s life? Is Selena running from something too? Or is there an even darker reason for her visit?

As Kirsty becomes increasingly concerned for the safety of her daughters, her dream home begins to feel like her worst nightmare.

Kirsty knows that once you invite trouble into your home, it can be murder getting rid of it.

Thank you Harper Collins for my advanced copy of Do Not Disturb by Claire Douglas, in exchange for my honest review.  This title publishes on November 17, 2020.

Claire Douglas has done it again!  Another page-turning tale of suspense that kept me turning pages QUICKLY.

Do Not Disturb took a different turn from Douglas’ previous works, with its Agatha Christie inspired locked room whodunnit murder mystery and atmospheric vibes.

Douglas did a fantastic job with the setting of this storyline, in the Brecon Beacons, making it a character on its own filled with its eery and atmospheric feel.  This is conjunction with a cast of unreliable (and unlikeable) characters, this was a fresh plot with a slow burn leading to an unpredictable twist that truly caught me by surprise.

I recently chatted with the author about this title and we dove deep into the storyline and characters.  Watch that interview by clicking here.

I have read and loved all of this author’s North American releases and I highly recommend adding this latest instalment to your reading list this Fall, you will not be disappointed!

My Rating: 4/5

Happy Reading,
