Lies Lies Lies by Adele Parks

Lies Lies Lies

Daisy and Simon’s marriage isn’t what it seems…

After years together, the arrival of longed-for daughter Millie sealed everything in place. They’re a happy little family of three.

So what if Simon drinks a bit too much sometimes—Daisy’s used to it. She knows he’s just letting off steam. Until one night at a party things spiral horribly out of control. And their happy little family of three will never be the same again.

Thank you MIRA Books/Harper Collins for my advanced copy of Lies Lies Lies by Adele Parks in exchange for my honest review.  This title publishes August 4, 2020.

Another entertaining page-turner by Adele Parks!  With a cast of flawed and unlikeable characters, adding extra intrigue, this domestic suspense had a strong bite and was an entertaining read.  It was a slower burn with multilayered characters and the story touches some sensitive topics: rape and domestic abuse and alcoholism but I think Parks dealt with these tastefully.

I read this one fairly quickly because I just needed to know how everything would unravel.  The story takes a turn that will have you on the edge of your seat.  In this character driven dark tale of secrets and lies you see the lengths people will go to in order to keep their secrets from surfacing.

Parks does a great job at building her characters in this one and you really get deep into each of their personalities.

I will be chatting with Adele Parks on August 1, 2020 at 12pm EST on my Instagram page, we will discuss this book and some of her previous work and find out what what she’s working on next!

My Rating: 4/5
