“Give me one name. One person. And I will make them disappear.”
Sarah is a young professor struggling to prove herself in a workplace controlled by the charming and manipulative Alan Hawthorne. A renowned scholar and television host, Hawthorne rakes in million-dollar grants for the university where Sarah works-so his inappropriate treatment of female colleagues behind closed doors has gone unchallenged for years. And Sarah is his newest target.
When Hawthorne’s advances become threatening, Sarah is left with nowhere to turn. Until the night she witnesses an attempted kidnapping of a young child on her drive home, and impulsively jumps in to intervene. The child’s father turns out to be a successful businessman with dangerous connections-and her act of bravery has put this powerful man in her debt. He gives Sarah a burner phone and an unbelievable offer. A once-in-a-lifetime deal that can make all her problems disappear.
No consequences. No traces. All it takes is a 29-second phone call.
Because everyone has a name to give. Don’t they?
Thank you St. Martin’s Press for my advanced copy of 29 Seconds by T.M. Logan in exchange for my honest review. This title releases September 10, 2019.
SPOILER ALERT: This book was BRILLIANT.
T.M. Logan has quite easily become one of my favourite authors in the suspense thriller game. Ever since his debut, Lies, I have been completely enamoured by his writing and 29 Seconds was no exception.
I completely binged this book in one sitting, it was truly unputdownable! With twists and turns and an ending that will truly leave you satisfied, this book was the epitome of a great suspense thriller and will keep you at the edge of your seat right until the end. The perfect Fall binge read.
In true Logan fashion, the short chapters are filled with suspense and each chapter leaves you wanting more, delivering in the entertainment department and proving that Logan has truly mastered this genre. This was a well-plotted and perfectly paced suspense with a cast of well-developed characters.
DO yourself and your TBR a favour and pick this one up and join me in adding to the buzz of what I suspect will be one of this year’s top suspense reads.
My Rating: 5/5
